AMFPA - Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists of the World
History
Seventeen mouth and foot painting artists throughout Europe got together in 1956 in order to make their mutual idea come true ˜ an organization that would stand by handicapped artists and get them the recognition they deserved as artist as well as financial independence.

The first president of the "Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists" (AMFPA) was the founder and initiator Mr. Arnulf Erich Stegmann . After his death in 1984 Marlyse Tovae, who was also one of the founding members of the Association, took over until her death in 2001.

In 2002 the members of the AMFPA elected Eros Bonamini (Veronese) as 3rd president of the
"Association of mouth or foot painting artists worldwide".

From it’s beginnings as an engaged little group, to today, where it represents 726 mouth and foot
painting artists , it has become quite a successful self-help organization.

The 50 year history of the Association has been filled with exhibitions, honors, and public distinctions
which were followed by the media. Some of the highlights have been: the presentation at the
UN Headquarters in Geneva (1981) or at the European Council in Strassburg (1987, 1993, 1996).

One can find admirers of the artists without hands in all classes and all over the world. Many exhibitions
have taken place in the presence of or under the auspices of prominent persons ˜ statesmen, royalty,
or high church officials.
